The Denver Nuggets are hosting the Utah Jazz at Ball Arena Friday night as the chase for the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference continues, and it’s a special night at the arena. SuperMascot Rocky is celebrating a birthday tonight, and the arena is giving away Rocky-themed bobbleheads for fans in attendance.
Rocky has been the mascot for the Nuggets since 1990, and is a staple for every home game for the Nuggets. Whether he’s doing his half court shot over his head, throwing popcorn on someone wearing a jersey of the opposing team or repelling down from the rafters, he always knows how to get the fans involved and put on a show.

The suit has been donned by the Solomon family for almost every year since 1990 until recently. Kenn Solomon was the main man in the suit before he passed the duties down to his son Drake. Due to injuries that Drake fought through, he ended up losing his role as the SuperMascot and never got it back.
While a new person is in the suit, the same qualities that make Rocky one of the best mascots in professional sports are still there.
For the Nuggets, they now sit two games behind Houston for the No. 2 seed, but have a 1.5 game lead on both Los Angeles and Memphis for the three seed. Nikola Jokic is doubtful with his ankle injury and Jamal Murray is questionable with hamstring tightness. Utah is arguably the easiest opponent left on the schedule for Denver, and the Nuggets need to take advantage of every game they play against a non-playoff opponent.
